Does anyone know if they have fixed the problem of Internet Explorer 8 preventing MC from initializing?

I know that Avid was recommending that we do NOT upgrade to IE8 with MC 3.5.   I had this initializing problem with IE8, uninstalled it and went back to IE7 and everything is fine in MC 3.5.

The reason I ask is that I am buying a new HP workstation, Vista Business 64.   IE8 is already pre-installed.   I will be upgrading to MC 4.0 on this new system.

Have they fixed this incompatiblity issue in MC 4.0? 

I have IE8 on my Toshiba Satellite laptop and MC 4.0.3 launches and appears to function reliably.  Too soon to say for sure, though, because the laptop is really only a toy.  I haven't checked it exhaustively.

I have been running first version 3,5x and now 4x for some months on a test bootdisc with IE8 installed on my main Vista 64 Ult sys simultaneisly with my standard IE 7 bootdisc, i see no differnces, it all works fine.

On my XP SP3 sys, i still have IE 7 installed, I see no need to challenge the unknown right now.
