Avid Media Composer & Unity slooooow

    Hello,

I am running Avid Media Composer v3.5.1.311 over a Fiber optic to a Unity system.  I am on a mac osx v10.5.6.  Fiber manager v5.1.2.

The main problem that I am having is the excruciatingly slow auto save times, excruciatingly slow opening the app, excruciatingly slow closing the app and also deleting bin locks only to have the bin still be reconized as locked and having to save version after version of bins (when there is another avid seat working on a project).

Everything else seems to run fine.  Moving around clips, making cuts, applying effects and rendering effects all run fine.  Sometimes I will see that there are red and yellow dots at the bottom of the timeline indicating dropped frames.

How can I troubleshoot this problem of the terribly slow opening, saving and closing?

Thank you in advance for any advice!
