    MacBook Pro Avid Compatibility

Thinking of getting a MacBookPro with the following spec. This isn't listed as a compatible Mac on the Avid website, does anyone know if it is? Also needs to work with an EditShare system.

    thanks for your help

    Re: MacBook Pro Avid Compatibility

Can't really predict, but my 3.06GHz MBP with the same specs runs MC just fine, under Leopard or Bootcamp/VistaBiz64.

Beware though, that these machines are likely delivered with Snow Leopard installed, which hasn't been qualified for MC. I got mine in September, and back then it came with Leopard installed and an additional Snow Leopard installer. I have my 500GB drive partitioned 3-way, one volume for 10.5, one for 10.6, one for Windows. Have Paragon NFTS-for-Mac on the Mac-side and MacDrive on the Win-side, so everything travels back and forth seemlessly.

Not sure how this will work with EditShare. I think Avid doesn't qualify laptops for use with MC&Unity, but I think an Ethernet connection should work fine.

Symphony Classic Nitris 4.0.2 on 2x 2.33 quad core XW8400/8GB Vista Biz 64bit | MC 4.0.2 on 2x dual core 2.66 XW8400/7GB Vista Biz 64bit | Mojo SDI | Unity... [view my complete system specs]
