This looks like a really nice upgrade.  I'm just about to upgrade to MC4 - will this be included anytime soon or do I need to spring for the Sorenson upgrade separately?

The boxed set of MC v4.0 includes Sorenson Squeeze v5.1 (the non-pro version).  You'll need to upgrade to v6.0 yourself.

Thanks for the reply Randall.  I was aware of the current contents, I was just curious if a change was in the works.  BCC 6 AVX was part of the package within a month or two, but that may have had more to do with the timing of the MC4 release than anything else.

I guess my question was directed at someone within the Avid organization.  If I can wait a week or two and pick up the latest Sorenson with the downloadable upgrade I will.  If not, I'll move ahead now.

FWIW, I went to buy the MC4 box upgrade and it's currently out of stock.

Very hard for me to see the improvements over V5 being worth $3200 (800 per seat) over a couple of years so I will be passing at that price.

I don't get the Pro upgrade, but yes, I'm annoyed.  It seems to me that these paid upgrades come along too often.  More of them should be free updates.

I thought that the front page I looked at originally had the "Upgrade Now" button under the $799 option.  $200 is a more reasonable price, but why only for a limited time?  If I don't "act now" is it going to double?

There also does not seem to be any indication when this special pricing ends! I want to wait to see if the h.264 output is now bluray compliant.
