Hi Avid Guru's,
I'm trying to capture video from my JVC HD Everio camcorder via a Canopus ADVC-100.
I can't capture directly as the camcorder only has USB and component, no firewire out!
I have set up the Canopus using a 1394 fire wire into my computer (I'm running Media Composer)
In the deck configuratioin I have set the channel to 1394, no port (I have also tried OHCI) I didn't auto configure (tried that as well) then added my deck. Under the Device I selected the Canopus ADVD-100 and show all devices (I tried transcoder as well). After clicking Apply I open my Cature window and no deck or device is shown. If I select Video or Audio to caputre I get "No input signal present" and I can't capture or even crash record.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Glenn
Connect the analog out of the ADVC to a monitor. and the FW out to your CPU
When you start the ADVC 100 hold down the large silver button for 10 to 15 seconds (you should see Bars show up on the monitor)
Open Avid and go to capture mode. If you are setup for Firewire in you should instantly see colour bars showing the unit is working properly between it and the CPU.
Connect your Analog inputs from the camera and quickly push and release the silver button. If you dont then you probably need to check the 6 dipswitches on the bottom of the ADVC100
Thanks for the continued dongle support
The ADVC 100 unit is only able to handle component SD, to handle component HD, you need other hardware

give us the iso files back in Avid Dvd please, no gi files for me
Thanks, I was wondering if that was the problem.
cheers
yes, good luck with finding another solution, might be a bit expensive I think in case you don´t stumble over an old Liquid Chrome system.
