Deleting an effect off a collapsed track - can someone check this?

    Hello

I have 6 video tracks with various effects applied to each of the Video tracks - I have collapsed these all into a single track. (Using the collapse button)

When I apply an effect onto the collapsed track and then try to delete the effect it deletes either the entire clip (i.e all collapsed tracks) and leaves an empty space or it deletes all the video tracks inside the collapsed track except the bottom track - this behaviour is when deleting a Boris effect.

Is this normal behaviour - if so how does one delete an effect applied to a set of collapsed tracks?

    Help!

    Hello

Please ignore this post - I have discovered that one needs to hold down the alt key when adding effects to a collapsed set of tracks.

Holding alt when adding further effects allows them to be deleted from the collapsed master trackwithout deleting the entire clip.

    Thanks

That's because the Collapse is an effect (Submaster) and in order to apply two effects, you need to Nest them.  The quickest and easiest way to Nest an effect is to hold ALT while applying it.

    Yes thanks Kenton

Interesting though that when you try to drag an effect onto a standard clip that has an existing effect you get a blip and an error message saying "Effect Does not Apply"

Yet for the collpased track (submaster) you can just drag the effect onto the sub master clip and it does apply it - you just cannot delete it unless you used the correct method - i.e holding down the alt key.

I suspect that was done because it's an easy way to set up an effects group to then be nested inside another effect or effects.
