Hi, It's been a few months I edit my 5D files with AVID; it works well; I don't really understand why everyone's talks about the Final Cut workflow, wich is quite the same in AVID ( FCP: transcode your H264 in Prores 422)(In Avid: import directly your H264 in DNXHD, yes you need a lot of diskspace ). It's true that in FCP you can use color wich is very powerful, but?
Well, I feel satisfied with the Avid worflow and wanted to get some other experienced from you guys, on black, gamma, colors, export, sound etc. good or bad expérience, works well or not for you. It seems that only a few peopole use AVID to edit those files. Would be great to have some feedback from AVID too as the 5D/7D/1D gets more and more common with video!

I have completed several projects shot with the 5Dmk2 on Avid. Everything does seem to work just fine (in NTSC land). I recently upgraded to MC4.0 and see that it now has 1080p as well, so I'm excited to try using that (as opposed to 1080i from previous MC versions).
Great to have some news, I can see some user uses AVID to edit the files, I'm actually editing withe the new 1080 p, works great.
The only thing is importing my files in 220 resolution is too much, my computer gets slow on playback..I have to deal with 145...
No one else uses AVID for 5D? I guess we are only 2 ?!! Come on guys, gives you impressions, I'm sure we can improve the workflow together and find great tips! Would be great to have some impressions by an Avid moderator too!
