    Image tile repeater effect

    Hi,

Does anyone know of an effect that will repeat my image/footage in a tile type effect? So I would end up with say six smaller images over the frame rather than one big one?

    Thanks

    Spencer

Use picture-in-picture (PIP) for that.  Put the video on six layers, drop a PIP on each, and scale/position as desired.

    Hi Spencer,

If you've got Sapphire plug-ins you can do this with the FishEye effect by setting the amount of distortion to 0, backing the picture away in Z space and checking the box to repeat the image around the edges of the primary image.

If not, then PiP is the way to go.

    good luck,

Great Thanks Carl, I was looking for a way that works better than the multi-layered pip solution. I find that to be way to combersum and fiddly for a simple effect like tiling.

    Thanks for the responses guys!

Saphire also has an effect called WarpPerspective.  It will do the same thing and also allow you to change the axis and a couple of other nifty things with the video layer.

Boris Continuum has a nice one. I'm not in front of my Avid right now, but I think it's one of the presets in "Tile" or "Bump Map".

I should be able to check later (not sure if it's in BCC 6).

    Re: Image tile repeater effect

I desperately need to do the same thing tomorrow morning, so did you ever have a chance to figure out which BCC plugin does this? Thank you in advance!

    Re: Image tile repeater effect

Found it. It is in the BCC Bump Map effect. Don't know why it's there, and not in some of the other effects, but if you examine all the parameters, there is a 'repeat' option in the scale parameter and you can get it to do a nicely tiled effect. Thanks!
