Re: Where is the cube spin ?

You'll have to go into Avid FX and once you're in that interface, in the library browser window, look through the DVE transitions. It's in there, not in the effects pallette.

    Good Luck.

Thanks , but still cannot locate the ' cube spin '   . .  is there a much simpler way to find it ? When I click on PREFERENCES nothing happens  and I do not know how to get into AVID Fx in the Library window browser. I am new to avid.

In the effects pallette, click on "Avid FX" and you get a series of choices - one of which is "transitions" drag the icon onto your timeline, and activate the effects editor. On the upper left of the editor window you'll see a square that says "Avid FX" click it and it will open the inteface. On the menu bar click windows, and select "Library browser." Then chooce "DVE transitions," and you'll find it in there. You'll have to monkey aroun d with it to get it to do what you want, or you can accept the default parameters. He was joking in the "Preferences" post. Cube transitions have been "out of style" for a while now. But, if you want and need it, this is how to get it.

Re: Where is the cube spin ?

If you have Boris Continuum Complete effects installed then look under BCC Two-input Effects for BCC Cube TR. It needs to be played with to get it to do what you want, but you should be able to get there.

Re: Where is thStill cannot find the "cube spin "

There is nothing in my effects pallete that says "Avid FX" and I do not have Boris Continum . Is this a problem seeing that I have Media  Composer  3.5 . . . .  the  educational version ?

Re: Where is thStill cannot find the "cube spin "

Avid FX and other third party apps (sonic fire pro, BCC, Avid DVD, etc.) do not come as part of the educational version but you could purchase it from the Avid store at full price (although they are available at educational price from places like Videoguys' academic outlet as an educational package; they may be available elsewhere - I'm not sure).

Thanks very much " gerbow " , I should have explained earlier to everyone that I have the educational version.
