Hey, I got Avid a few months ago, and registered it online. Then the other day I got a sound card for my computer, and opened Avid and it asked me to register it, again. I went online, and it said I had already used my 1 registration for it. But it's the same computer, I just put a sound card in.
Any help getting Avid working again would be great.

Could you explain what happened, there is quite a difference between unlocking Media Composer using your software key and registering your version at the Avid website.
Updating your hardware shouldn´t affect your software key, it should still be there in your license folder, that is, if the folder haven´t been removed of course.

give us the iso files back in Avid Dvd please, no gi files for me
Have you perhaps added an internet connection that wasn't there when you first activated/registered? This happened to me. I registered all my Avids, and then briefly connected my Nitris machine to my mobile phone to register Sorenson Squeeze. Normally none of my Avids are connected to the internet. I didn't remove that Nokia connection setting and when I tried to fire up MC again it said it was unregistered. Took tech support a while to figure out that the extra internet connection did actually influence MCs registation/activation setup. I needed to delete a couple of files, do the activation again and then everything was up and running again
To add to CorneScheepers: could it be that Your system has two network cards and when You installed the sound card You moved the network cable from one port to the other?

Ok so I installed it a while ago, and I needed to connect to the internet, to Unlock Media Composer, which I then did using a software key that I got from the website after writing my System ID and Serial number.
It worked fine. Then I opened it after putting the new sound card in, and a popup windows comes up and says "KCAV: Activation Code Validation Failed", and wants me to connect to the interner again to get a code to, um, activate it.
Could you describe your install procedure of the card, did you do it yourself, what card is it and did you install any software brought together with the card or only the drivers.
edited.. and of course, to help us to help you better, please add your system specs to your profile
This may be what happened. I first went online with my Desktop through a flatmate's broadband. He's since left, and we have a different internet connection which my desktop it not hooked up to, so I clicked "Activate avid using internet on another computer", and this is when it said it had already been registered. On the other hand, it shouldn't have asked me to re-activate Avid in the first place. I removed the first internet connection from my desktop ages ago and it worked fine when it wasn't online.
Hm, no we didn't move any cables when we put the sound card in.
