Hi,
I'm blurring nudity on an animated show. It has a sort of pull-down where every shot is repeated for 4 fields then the next shot is repeated for 4 fields (but not consistently). It would save me a lot of time and effort if I could blur with shelf keyframes (otherwise known as Hold). But to enable that, the effect must be promoted to Advanced Keyframes. It does not seem that the Blur effect can be promoted to Advanced Keyframes.
Is there a workaround? Is there another effect that blurs video but is able to be promoted to Advanced Keyframes?
How about a Foreground Defocus in the 3D Warp? This can be promoted to Advanced KF...
Or, specially designed for this, the Witness Protection filter in BCC.
Since you are in a Symphony, use the paint effect and use the tracker. That will automatically follow the changes by field. This should be blazingly fast. no need to muck around with keyframing.
