I two video tracks. I'm cutting between these two tracks. Is there a way to display video1 on the left monitor and video2 on the right monitor so that I can easily see two video tracks and cut them easily?

Sure using multi cam mode and grouping your two shots. Or you can load one in the timeline and the other in the source monitor and gang them so they move together.
Thanks! I thought I saw some video tutorials on using multicame somewhere around here. Let me know if someone found it before I do.
Thanks again.
Okay, I found one tutorial here but it's a bit different than what I have. I already have all the clips synchronized in video track one and two. How do I go from there to multicame mode?
Go to the point where they start to overlap. Match frame each clip back to the bin (make sure the clips are in the same bin). Then selecting both clips choose group clips from the clip menu. Choose group by inpoints. That makes a new clip. Edit that into the timeline and then from the special menu choose multicam.
Thats basically it but you are best to have a good read of the manual as its very well explained in there.
Alcy:How do I go from there to multicame mode?
Select V1 go to th e first frame in your sequence.
Match frame from the first frame of your sequence so you have your V1 track in the source monitor.
Gang the Source and Edit monitors.
Select monitoring V2 in the edit window.
V1 may not play whilst you play in the timeline but it will jump to the same frame as soon as you stop.
I extremely rarely do multicam but from my minimal knowledge I would research setting a sync points on the sources. (If this is not good advice it will probably provoke someone who knows the right way to correct it )
edit: redsnapper corrected me before I had even posted
Thanks for the continued dongle support
I feel like I am still lost in this. First, the Clip menu does not have the "group clips" option only the Bin menu does. Second, I have to stress that I already have the clips layout and synched in Video 1 and Video 2. I need to go it from there instead of selecting the clips in the Bin folder and start from scratch.
First, the "group clips" item in the bin menu is the correct one. (Avid has moved some items between bin and clip menu over the years).
How many clips do you have laid out on each track of you timeline? If it is only 1 clip on each track then you should definitely mark in points that are in sync and then group them as has been suggested.
If you have lots of short clips and you've laid them all out in sync then you could try Ganging the viewer monitor as AndrewAction suggested.
Or another option that I have used is to create two 3D-warp effects - one that places the clip at 50% size on the left of the screen, and one that places it at the right-hand side. Save each of those effects to a bin by dragging the pink icon from the effects editor. Now lasso all the clips on V2 to select them and apply one of those effects by double-clicking on it in the bin. The select all the clips on V1 and apply the other effect.
Now you can see both tracks as you play down. (Full-screen mode will let you see them better). To make an edit simply mark in and out points around part of a clip on V2 and lift it from the timeline. Once you've got to the end of your sequence select every clip on the sequence and remove all the effects. Now they'll play down full-size with the cuts you made.
good luck
