Hi,
I just launched a podcast centering on tips and tricks using Avid Media Composer and it's sister products. It's called Avid Screencast and can be found at http://www.avidscreencast.com
While I know there are great user tutorials available on the community site right here, I always thought it would be nice to have it as a weekly podcast that you can simply download via iTunes. And as nothing of the sort was ever created, I thought I'd do it myself :)
I'd really appreciate it if you checked it out. Any comments are welcome (well, apart from insulting ones, maybe -- unless they're well-founded).
I hope you're not angry at me for posting this, I'm not trying to spam the forum, but thought this might be of interest. Though I wouldn't mind you subscribing!
Thanks for your patience reading this,
Christian
Christian,
I don't know the official word on it, but in my opinion, the more tutorials the better. Great looking site.
Thanks for sharing.
Ra-ey
Christian, I checked out your website and it was great. The art of the tutorial! Good luck on your podcasts and looking forward to more. If I had a comment/suggestion, it would be to ask for a tutorial sequel where a line of synchronized shadowed PiPs move across the screen, as in your example commercial.
Thanks for your kind words!
I'll think about adding a sequel with animated reflections, however, it might not translate well as a screencast as it's pretty fidgety with lots of video layers... But it's definitely on my list now!
Again, thanks for the feedback,
Great job Christian.
There can never be enough Video Tutorials on Media Composer.
I am looking forward to your next one.
Regards,
Douglas

Adam,
Thanks for reminding me of the above.I took a look now, for the first time.Excellent!
I saw the first time you posted about this and did not look!
You see I have an aversion to certain words. I tend to turn of when I read them. Some examples: Awesome, Dude, ITunes, Blog, Podcast, Social Networking . . . . . .
It's just me. Sort of childish, but that's how I am Thanks for pulling my head out of the sand on this one.Regards,Douglas
Ouch, that means I'm a couple of weeks late :) Sorry, I honestly hadn't noticed you starting the "Cutting Edge" podcast, although I was aware of the videos on the website.
I didn't want to misreprensent anythng, but I guess we're all a little late to the game :)
Bye,
Well I agree with Ra-ey that the more tutorials the better. Douglas' ones have been great but podcasts are also a great way of getting things out there. There is so much to learning Media Composer and it can be so daunting when people start that you can never have to many tutorials. Just look at the many different podcasts and tutorials about After Effects, Photoshop and so many other applications out there.
Also, there are many ways to do things in Media Composer, so different tutorials, even on the same topic, would probably just offer different options and solutions that suit different people.
It's great to see that Avid is offering a podcast themselves, long overdue, but the more the merrier. Congratulations on your first episode and I can't wait to see more. I'll definitely be recommending BOTH podcasts to my friends! (as well as Douglas' fantastic tutorials which I already send to people!).
Thanks guys!
Campbell
