There should be a copy in the Attic.

Here is a link to a tutorial from Avid.

    Re: Deleted Sequence recovery

DS does not have an attic, but it does have a folder with sequences saved in case they are needed for crash recovery... if you can get to these quckly, and copy them out to a folder somewhere safe you should be able to use one of them.

Not infront of the machine right now,so from memory it's gong to be somewhere inside; programs/avid/DS8.4 & the folder is called something easly spotted  like "crash recovery" or something along those lines...

    good luck!

    Re: Deleted Sequence recovery

I can never remember the exact address, so I just use windows built in search tools and look for "autosave", find them, rename them with the extension .Segment and drop them into your project folder. The exact naming of .Segment is very important.

great, thanks for the tips, I didn't get to those files quick enough this time but in the future (which hopefully won't happen again) I'll know how to keep from having to rebuild the sequence!

For others in the same situation, or immediately following a crash that the DS application was not able to automatically recovers from (rare but possible), check this Avid Knowledge Base article:
