Most of you know my opinion about this. It is indeed kind of ironic that an educational facility comes up with this security problem and then says a dongle is better....

Marianna, I have no reason to believe that those stats are lying. But till this day IF what you are saying is true, why is avid not using the software activation feature as an advertisement for its products? If there is a majority of users wanting this feature...

And when it comes to statistics... Is it statistically possible a majority of users wanted the dongle replaced but nobody ever posted on this forum? In other words, is it possible that only dongle supporters are active members of this forum?

I still believe having both activation methods, also for new licenses (not upgrades), is the best solution.
