Hi guys, I'm trying to output to tape with the Mojo SDI.
I have a horita 50 black burst connected to the Betacam 2800
and to my Black wire coming the mojo SDI output.
The problem I get is:
-Shouldn't I be getting a ref light on the Mojo SDI unit?
-Only when I record I get a vertical shift on the image.
But the playback looks okay.
-on the Digital cut tool shouldn't have an option for SDI output?
Or do I need to have a Digi signal connected to the mojo to see it.
Is this a known problem with the Mojo SDI?
thanks

Can you clarify this? You want ref from the BB to the deck ref in and to the mojo ref in, and then the SDI out from the mojo to the deck SDI in.
But the 2800 (or indeed any betacam deck afaik) doesn't have SDI in, only component, composite or Svideo.
You should be getting a reference light. When you loop the black signal thru the PVW2800 to the mojo, make sure that the termination switch (75 ohm/Hi-Z or Off) is NOT on 75 ohms. If you are terminating the signal at the deck, the mojo is receiving a black signal with low sync, which it may not recognize.
Can I send a BB directly to the Mojo SDI?
Which wiring is it? I used the black wire(word clock ref) and it's still not working.
Avid, the output tool, should it be set to reference or internal?
Finally the Digital cut tool, Shouldn't I have an option SDI?

Yes you can send BB direct or loop through the deck. Or you can send ref from the mojo to the deck and not use your BB box at all (switch the video output settings to internal ref if you do this).
If you are using the BB box make sure that you're connecting the BB ref to the mojo ref in, not the mojo ref out. The avid output tool should be set to reference, not internal.
The mojo SDI always outputs SDI so you don't see it as an option in the video output tool. That is simply to decide which format of analog signal the mojo outputs.
And as I said before, your deck doesn't have SDI in, so you want to be using component ideally.
Thanks! it Works!
