ha ha!  suuuuure.... besides the Snow Leopard issues--  ATI graphics?  i think i remember back in the day some Avid flavors were certified for ATI Radeon & Fire video cards... but now that it's Nvidia Uber Alles, I wouldn't risk it...

Well, you could go with the 21.5" version and save some money. It has the NVidia card. Snow leopard should be just a matter of time.

Avid and ATI seem to work on a MAC.

Since you have no system specs listed and refer to Avid and ATI "seeming" to work, I am assuming that this is not from experience. If I am wrong please let us know your experience with the hardware in question.

Yes, we'd read the rumors about updated machines and were waiting to buy one just for running MC. Unfortunately or fortunately Macs haven't come with regular Leopard for a while now...

ok, i tried replying to this earlier but it was sent to moderation (??) -- not sure why

the thing with the nvidia card listed for the smaller iMacs is that the 9400M is integrated graphics-- and only discrete GPUs are certified

and of course, the 27" screen would be the main reason to get that machine!
