    Subcap and Youtube.

    Hello everyone!

I need to add subtitles to a youtube video.

I´ve used the subcap effect to generate them, and then export the captions as .txt and .stl.

Problem is youtube only supports .srt, so I´m looking for a way to convert the .txt and .stl files to srt.

I´ve found a couple of converters, but the resulting file is wrongly formatted.

I don´t know where the problems is, but the file MC generates is kind of worthless, I can´t take it to youtube or even Dvd Studio Pro.

    Is anyone doing this?

    Thanks in advance...

    Flavio.

I can strongly recommend Belle Nuit as a good subtitling tool.  It can certainly import stl and export srt amongst many other features such as offsetting and frame rate changing.  It supports many formats and many character sets.

Check Subtitle Workshop, Freeware and great for subtitle conversions.

    Re: Subcap and Youtube.

    Thanks to you both:

I´ve tried the Belle Nuit software, because I´m on a Mac.

Problem is it gives me this "unknown encoding errro".

And... So far... every single aplication I´ve tried to import the MC generated subtitles gives me the same error.

Is anybody succesfully exporting subtitiles from MC and importing into any other aplication?

    Thanks in advance...

    Re: Subcap and Youtube.

try opening the subtitle file in text editor convert to plain text and save as ansi, utf and unicode,  and the import each on belle nuit to see if any of those flaveos imports ok.

    Thanks a lot.

I´ve found the unicode codification, but where are the ansi and utf options?
