    AVCHD Conversion

Hello.  I am a novice at this so please bear with me.  I purchased Avid media Composer V3.0 and a Sony AVCHD Handycam.  My intention was to film with with the handycam and edit in Avid once I learn it.  But my problem is that it seems Avid does not support AVCHD.  What can I do with out spending more money to convert these files so that I can edit in Avid?

    Re: AVCHD Conversion

Do a forum search for AVCHD - I believe you'll find talk of a free AVCHD to P2 converter by Panasonic (might not work with the Sony camera, though) - there are other alternatives.... and this has been discussed quite often.

    Good luck,
