For some reason I have one file that is always offline when I open up MC. So I go back and delete msmFMID and msmMOB, let it rebuild itself and it's still offline. I know the file there, I put it again for the second time yeaterday. How can I relink it?
Thanks Greg

Did you try to relink?
There's gotta be something at the end...otherwise there ain't no ending...
Many times "batch Import" works better than relink.

I tryed relinking and that didn't work. Any tips on useing relinking? I looked at the batch import. I went through all the way to the drive the files is on but don't know what file it is. I wondered this for years, is there any way to figure out what files goes with what clip. I know it is a big file, the video is about 30min long. If I can figure out which clip it is, this batch import might work. Any ideas?
Greg
Are you working on a Unity with multiple people importing clips? If so and it was imported from a different machine, you need to change the name of the folder where the media is located to your computer's name. Delete the database files, then rebuild the database. Once it's re-built you can change that folder back to it's original name. Also make sure to change your computer's media folder to "yourmachine.1" while you do this as well. Then once the other name is back remove the .1 from your computer's folder.
A simpler way is to go to the machine it was imported on and re-build the databases from there. If you are the only user this does not apply unless you changed your comps name.

Yes, there is. Highlight the clip in the bin and then File>reveal file. This will isolate the specific media file(s) associated with that clip.

Thanks. About that offline clip, for some reason it only one part of the tape. I put this 20 mins of tape in twice now. It was offline, so the tried to relink it, that didn't work. So I put the tape back in. Edited some more with that clilp and everything was fine. I exited the program and then went back in the next day and the cip was offline again. Any throughts- thanks
Try recapturing that problem clip to a different drive or partition.
Just wondering if you've had any luck with this, and I want to be clear on something:

By that do you mean the following workflow: You captured a 20 minute stretch of footage from one particular tape and as soon as you finished the capture, a clip showed up in your bin that turned out to be media offline? And not once, but twice? That would be extremely unusual behavior for the interface, to say the least. Please clarify.
