Since upgrading to MC 4.0.2, my media creation settings default to DV25 MXF. I can manually switch it to whatever I want in the media creation settings, and all is good. However, as soon as i close the project and open another, it's back to DV25 MXF.
I uninstalled everything and wiped every remaining Avid related setting off the machine manually. Re-installed... brought back NO settings or users... opened Avid, started a new project and wham DV25 MXF.
I've stumped the higher ups at Avid with this one... any ideas out there? This is not a global issue I'm told, so somehting is up here on my end.

...and while you're in there Todd, I'll give you twenty bucks to figure out how to REALLY exclude system drives, etc. from the media creation drive list.

I've duplicated this on two different Macs here Todd. I thought the resolution was sticking, but no. Neither the resolution nor the filtering options will stick. Go ahead and escalate this.

What happens when you set your resolution and "apply to all", then drag it into site settings? If you quit and re-launch, are the site settings for media creation consistently honored? If not, this is an age old problem that I've been seeing ever since 2.2.3. I haven't had a chance to see whether or not NC 8.0.2 continues to suffer from this, but I'll check it out after we solve some rather peculiar problems we're having with our ISIS/Interplay transition, now in progress.

Larry,
My settings are not honored after doing what you said. Both existing and new projects do not hold the settings across all the tabs in the media creation settings. As soon as I close a project and re-open it or open another, it reverts back to DV25 MXF no matter what. This was not an issue for me in MC 3.5 or even in MC 4 beta 1. In fact if I roll back to MC 4 beta 1, it works as it should.
I had a similar issue (MC 4.0.2). The project settings were not saving (modified date never changes) - be it for the media creation settings or Audio project. A workaround that worked for me and got them to stick: I deleted the avs file in the project folder.
Janusz
That is typically one of my first troubleshooting attempts janusz. I'm getting hit with this on newly created projects native to 4.0.2 however, as well as older ones. I've trashed the .avs file to no avail.
What I did was to throw away the avs file, with avid running, click on the settings tab, then save manually. This worked for me. Maybe these are two separate issues...
Interesting... I've not tried the .avs thing in that exact manner. I'll give it a go and let you know if that helps.
Did not work for me unfortunately.
Just found this post after having the same problem on 4.02 on the Mac.
I found that Januscz's solution worked - I deleted the project's AVS settings file while the project was open and then re-saved. This kept Media Creation and Audio Project settings. This worked for Site Settings too, thank god!
However, it still doesn't excuse Avid from getting things working properly. Settings not sticking has plagued many versions since 2.5. Sort it out!
Has this been fixed in version 4.0.3? In the bug fixes of the 4.0.3 release notes it lists this: "Bug Number: UDevC00129784. If you made a change to a User setting and then closed the project, the User setting change would not stick. This has been fixed."
