I have a sequence w/ ten clips that I'd like to single roller trim to about one half of their original lengths.
I don't care if they are trimmed on the incoming or outgoing side, b/c they are actually still images. So the image is static and does not change during each clip.
I know I can go into Trim Mode and do this for each clip individually, but I'm wondering if there is a way to do it en masse, as I'm probably going to be running into this a fair amount.
Thanks much. :)

I think I would use go to next edit. Keyboard to advance the duration I wanted. Mark in. Go to next edit and mark out. Cut. Repeat rather than trim mode if the timeline was already set up.
Thanks for the continued dongle support
Hi,
Not at my system right now but can't you just lasso all the clips while in trim mode and then select trim left or right and go from there.
Would only take a few seconds if it works and obviously will only achieve the effect you want if all the clips are of similar lengths to begin with.

Unfortunately (for what I'm tyring to do) it seems that selecting multiple clips and then entering Trim mode just place the trim rollers at the beginning of the first clip and at the end of the last clip, and only those two clips can be trimmed.
But thanks for the suggestion.
You could use the Top or Tail buttons to do quick trims.
Park wherever you'd like to trim to, hit Top and it'll trim off the "top" of the clip to the point you're parked at. Hitting Tail, will trim the tail... brilliant.
you'd still have to move through the sequence and do each clip one by one, but at least it's only 1 button click and a mouse move.

Kenton, Thanks for the suggestion ;).
there is a method to change all marked clips in a bin at the same time. See here

Type +10:00 in the composer monitor and hit enter to advance 10 seconds. Then use trim to tail to cut the rest of the clip off. The great thing is the Avid remembers the +10 and all you have to do to repeat the jump forward is to hit enter again. If all your clips are next to each other you then just have to hit enter followed by the trim to tail button over and over. Easy.

Don't forget this:

Yes if you are marking in and outs from the source monitor that can be a problem but if you follow the method I posted using the trim to tail command the extra frame is not a problem.

Thank you Tones.
I didn't know that
