Is Mojo DNA compatible with MC 4.0? I am going to upgrade soon but wanted to use this unit for time being!! Or is there a firmware upgrade necessary. It keeps telling me to power recycle the unit. OS X sees it and has id'd it as a MOJO:
Mojo:
Manufacturer: Avid Technology
Model: 0x1
GUID: 0xA07E0100081843
Maximum Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec
Connection Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec
Sub-units:
Mojo Unit:
Unit Software Version: 0x14001
Unit Spec ID: 0xA02D
THanks a million.

I believe the latest is that the Mojo (and Adrenaline) DNA hardware is still certified on the previously supported hardware (HP XW8200 etc), There was still testing required with the newer Z-series workstations.
Basically if it worked on the system with MC 3, then it should continue to work with MC 4. We're currently testing MC 4.0.2 on one of our HP XW8600 workstations with Adrenaline hardware with no obvious problems so far.

I appreciate the reply but we are in the MAC side thread. My system doesn't seem to like the unit so far.!!
Peace,
The DNA Mojo seems to be pretty unstable with MC 3.5.4 and the Mac Pro. There are various threads and as far as I can remember there was never any solution. I certainly have issues with it every week or so involving multiple reboots.
Hi. We have a mojo DNA (non sdi) and it works fine on our MacPro zeon 2.66 Dual Core Zeon (one of the olderish ones, but not the first ones) - it doesn;t say anything about cycle etc, and I believe the last firmware upgrade it did was with version 3 (going off memory) but there was no firmware up for 3.5 or 4.02.
Hope this helps.
Panic. I was about to upgrade 4 machines from PC HPxw8200s using Avid Xpress Pro 5.8.4 and DNA Mojos (SDI) to MC 4 on new Mac Pros using same Avid Mojos. But if these Mojos are unstable with MC 3.5/4.0 on Mac would I be more sensible staying on my ageing, but stable, HP xw8200s and spending the money on upgrading the Avid hardware to DX.
They're being used in an educational facility so I can't expect the students to be constantly restarting the mojos especially as we've just spent our hardware budget on new Macs.
I always hoped the Mojos (SDI) would continue doing their job until they burned out one day but secretly dreaded that the day would arrive that new Avid software and new OS would reject the hardware.
Has that day arrived?
