This release is an update to the recent Avid DS 10.2 and provides performance enhancements and updates to AVX2 plug-in support.

Eligibility information

• Customers with a valid Avid support contract are eligible to download the Avid DS v10.2.1 software from the Support Download Center page (login and password required), beginning Monday, October 5, 2009.
• Customers without a support contract that own Avid DS v10.2 software can download the Avid DS v10.2.1 software from avid.com download site beginning Monday, October 5, 2009.

Notes:

1. Avid DS v10.2.1 is a patch, not a full application installation.  Avid DS v10.2 must be previously installed in order to upgrade to Avid DS v10.2.1.

2. Dual boot compatibility is possible between Avid DS v10.2.1 and Avid Symphony v3.5.x or v4.0.2. The dual boot configurations are only possible on workstations qualified with Avid Nitris (classic) hardware.

3. Avid DS v10.2.1 is compatible with Avid Media Composer v3.5.4 at this time.

4. Customers updating to Avid DS v10.x from versions earlier than v10.0 require a license update. Customers updating to v10.2 and v10.2.1 from Avid DS v10.0 do NOT require a new license.
