Johnla: Speaking of BCC issues, I've been informed that there is a potential issue with BCC 6.0.5 causing a hang on quitting Media Composer when using certain Boris effects (believed to be in “BCC 3D Objects”). If you experience this please revert to BCC 6.0.4 until the next Boris update.

LOL, priceless.
Long thread. Long week.

I just want to inform you that Boris FX does have this information about the crash and a fix is certainly being looked at.
I'll let you know when I have more details.

Guys.... be nice to my friend John. He jumped on this thread at my plea since he use to work at Boris as Did Matt who works there now. These guys are on the phones handling calls so they cant always be spot on and realtime.
Be nice - pretty please.
These folks behind the sense who support peeps like me ROCK!

Thank you for having our backs, Marianna. To add to what Marianna is saying, Forum Moderators and Members are here to help and this is a great, FREE resource for Avid customers. Bear in mind though, we are taking time away from our daily jobs, working under deadlines, etc., to help you. We may not have time to re-read through every thread, especially threads that meander off on other tangents. If you keep your posts brief and to the point, you will find that you will get much better results here. And, it will make it easier for us to quickly isolate the issue and help you.
John, I am PM ing with Matt about this since some week, seems to be a memory related prob with 6,05, I can even get my 8 gigs sys to hang when doing long renderings
Tomas
give us the iso files back in Avid Dvd please, no gi files for me
It may be a memory leak somewhere. I'll contact Matt to discuss.
Very good, he has the workflow, no one else seems to have run in to it yet so I am not going to wake any sleepy bears up right now
6.0.5.1 update for BCC 6 windows is available on the Boris updates page.
http://www.borisfx.com/updates/
I am doing full scale tests with 6,051 on two machines now, will leave them running and go to the shop and buy me a new disc printer
I'd sure like to read the release notes for this update before attempting it. As the OP I tried installing and reinstalling 6.0.5 many times before we determined that there was infact a defect in 6.0.5 (the shipping version of BCC is 6.0.4 which does not suffer from the issue).
All I'm asking is that Boris tell us what they fixed in 6.0.5.1... Tomas - let us know how your testing goes (and thanks).
Cheers
Steve

It´s a pleasure to be able to help, as usual, Steve and about the new patch, there still seems to be some things that are needed to be fixed, works well but I wouldn´t recommend doing long big renders.
Trying to isolate the prob, testing continues
Slightly off topic, but how does one see the version of BCC AVX that is installed? I downloaded the latest patch and the install ran extremely quickly, so I am not sure if this install actually worked or not.
So how does one go about checking the installed version of BCC AVX?
Thanks
Neil
Neil,
The installer does run very fast... if you want a little peace of mind you can uninstall/reinstall.

The way I check is to go to the Avid folder, then AVX2_Plugins/BCC for AVX. You can check the file Version for BCC 3DObjects AVX2.avx
