Hi all.
I've noticed that for several versions, exporting to an HDV transport stream results in crushed blacks in the export, i.e lots of extra contrast. Anyone else seeing this? It happens with HDV captured by firewire in 1080 / 50i project from Sony A1 / Z1 / Z7 etc.

A lot can depend on the combination of 601/709 or RGB color space selections you make at file import and file export. The "export file" drop down, many times, has multiple places to choose the color space selection. I don't know if they are all active, or if one setting supercedes the other.

Yes indeed I'm well aware of the pitfalls but with HDV export there is no colourspace selection. And the material was captured, not imported, so no selection here either.
I've noticed that Media Composer doesn't always get the color space conversion right. Not saying that's what's happening here, but, a definite possibility. You may need to raise the levels on the timeline, inorder to get the right levels out. Have you looked at the waveform monitor to verify that the data is right, at least, on the timeline?
