Hi Guys,
Friend of mine working on a graduation project borrowed my AVID laptop, but for some reason did not realise the import levels had been set to RGB. Now, he has imported the 7 QT Movie files (DNxHD transfers of our rushes) with nastily compressed dynamic range.
Unfortunately, he did not twig this at the start (he's not a professional editor) and has now edited the film and graded it, using the wrong levels to start.
I appreciate that the grade will have to be re-done, but I was wondering if there was a way to delete the badly imported clips and to get it to re-import the files at the correct levels? I am sure this must be do-able. Somebody help us!
Time is short, I thank you for your help.
James Martin.

You can hghlght the clips in the bin and hit "Delete" on your computer. When the dialog box pops up and offers check boxes on whether to delete master clips, or media files, or both, make sure only media files are selected and hit OK.
Then, select the"empty" clips in your bin, and go to the clips menu and select batch import. It will ask if you want offline only, so say yes. Then - if the QT files are in the same location that will appear and just click import. If the QT's have moved, the file names will be in red, and you'll have to find them to do the batch import. Once the batch import is complete, your newly imported clips will already be in your timeline, and all your ins and outs will be preserved. Be sure to change your import settings to the desired specifications before you do the batch import.
Good Luck,
Andy
In the batch import dialog window there is a check box in the lower left (don't recall the exact wording at the moment) but whne it is checked on the imports will follow whatever you have selected as import settings currently. When checked off (the default) the original settings will be used regardless of what you have set up.
