I know its only been out for a few days, but I was wondering how well projects started in MC4 work when moved to a machine with 3.5 or lower. Obviously the mixed frame rates wouldn't work, but has anyone tried this?
Afain they should work fine, with the exception, of course, of any new feature/functionality implementations.

The readme also mentions a different codec: if You're moving mediafiles too You'll have to manually copy codecs from MC 4 to MC 3.x; read the readme!

Ive had issues going between 4.0 on Intel boxes and 2.8.x and 3.0.x on G5, non intel boxes, with media file database rebuilds and associated bad magic errors and so forth, be interested to know if anybody has similar problems.
thanks!
I semi frequently move projects and/or media back and forth between MC 4/Nitris DX on Intel, MC 3/Software Only on Intel, MC 2.8/Adrenaline on Intel and MC 2.7.3/Mojo on a G5. The one thing that I find makes a huge difference is to trash the .avs file from the project each time I relocate the project. Letting the project natively build it's settings makes a big difference in my environment.

thanks Todd, i'll give that a shot.

There's always been some weirdness going between intel and powerpc avids. I've always had to trash my media databases and let it rebuild every time i switched machines. Gets to be a real drag when you have to scan terabytes of media everytime you want to use it. I am so much happier being intel only at this point.
yes, thats exactly what is happening to us... but we have quite a number of machines so its an expensive exercise to swtich them all over. thanks for the note, at least its not just unique to us and obviously is an issue.
