    Re: Problem with Media Composer 4.0

    A couble of questions:

    What project format are you using?

    What color are the clips in the timeline?

    Please Enable Timeline Menu -> Clip Text -> Clip Resolutions

    What does the text say on the clips in the timeline?

    Project format:  720p/23.976   1280x720  - all footage shot on P2 720PN DVCPro HD

    Clip color in TL:  Video, green.  Audio, blue  (I read that DVCpro HD clips should be red, they were on 3.5)

    Clip rez reads; DVCPro HD (720p/60)

    Thanks

    Rob, for what it's worth;  I pulled the HDD with the original P2 media and connected another drive with DNxHD90 clips on it (clips are backups of the P2 media).  Same problem.  Clip color is green, clip rez reads DNxHD90

    Tom,

    If you create a 720p/60 project and open the same media, will it play?  If so, can you consolidate it in that 720p/60 project and then try to play the consolidated footage in your 720p/23.976 project?

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Brian, same problem in a 720P/59.94 (60 not an option).  Here is the sequence of events;

    1. AMA loads all the P2 clips into the bins and clips turn yellow.

    2. Bring a clip into the source monitor and hit play.

    3. Audio plays, video stalls on one of the first frames.  I hit stop and errors pop up in this order;

    (AVID error)   Unable to stop Spring Buffer's FillThread

    (PC error) An ACCESS_VOILATION exception occurred. For more info see the error log: C:\\Documents and ..........

    (AVID error) Exception: Structured Exception, ExceptionCode: 0xc0000005. String ACCESS_VIOLATION, Fault address:0x3b1f12, minidumpfilename: 628193b3-f109-4f42-af4f-b78995c4537a.dmp

    Thanks a lot, Tom

    Re: Problem with Media Composer 4.0

    Curious if there has been a resolution to this.  I just upgraded today from MC 2.8 to 4.0.2.  We do SD only, and I'm getting the freezing video but audio continues to play.  Also getting "Unable to stop Spring Buffer's FillThread"  We're on XP SP3, HP 8200.  2GB Ram.  Software mode only so far, our mojo is non-functional at the moment.

    Never did figure it out on my system.   You are getting the problem on all SD projects?  Are you getting a 2nd error (access denied)?  Do you know what processor is in your HP 8200?
