Hello All,
I'm just attempting to import a clip from my desktop into a bin when I get the message, Exception, not enough space on this media drive. This has never happened before, and there is plenty of space on the drive that I am using. 300 GBs in fact. Not sure what to do, thinking maybe the drive got changed somehow? How can I check if it did, and if so change it back?
Thanks,
Brendan Maghran
Double check you are importing to the drive you think you are. How long is the file you are trying to import?

In media creation (cmd5) you can check which drive imports go to
St.John
Also, check to make sure your internal harddrive has enough free space.
hey guys,
Thanks for your feedback. The file I was importing was no longer than a couple minutes, and my internal hard drive has about 400 gbs free on it, so the actual space is not an issue. I've never had this problem before. And the file I was importing was just on my desktop, so I thought it would just import normally from my internal harddrive. When I checked in media creation it was only reading one media drive. Is there a chance that the media drive my files are going into somehow changed? And if so how can I change it back?

Settings... Media Creation... Import Tab.
Further, if you select import from the dropdown menu, rather than drag and drop the file into a bin, you can also select your destination drive there as well.
Well I turned my external hd on and there was no problem importing into a bin with the external turned on. My problem is now when I don't have it on. The avid is saying, "There are no media drives available, you will only be able to import shot logs." I recently switched to Snow Leopard, I wonder if it reset my media drives somehow?
Check to see if it's a permissions issue.

Yeah, that seemed to work, thank you so much this was so frustrating.
You're quite welcome. Glad that worked for you.
