I worked on a project that had Merdians. They worked great but the computer power was too slow when we had to import graphics. IT TOOK FOREVER. Now, the project is coming back and I was offered the opportunity to use Adrenaline. I am happy because the importing will be faster but I heard that there are problems with bus errors and such.
I have two question for you guys?
First, is it worth going to Adrenaline?
Second, is there a version on Media Composer that works well with both Unity and Adrenaline?
Thanks,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
It's totally worth it. I've been running an Adrenaline since they first came out and even after purchasing a Nitris DX have continued to use it in our second edit suite. The Adrenaline will destroy the Meridian with respect to graphic import speed, particularly on a MacPro. Bus errors were an issue for awhile, but to be honest they've been reduced significantly at this point. MC 2.8 and then 3.x really improved the bus error issue. The 1.8 to 2.5 range was ugly.
Can you tell me what type of computer you have to run this potential Adfrenaline system?
Someone else will have to speak to Unity.

Adrenaline had some flaws at startup but evolved eventually to a good editor. Go for i'd say :)

I've been using the Adrenaline HD on a Mac G5 since Jan. 2006 with no problems. I better "knock on wood".

I am trying to get Mac 10.4.11 but to be honest I am going to get what is cheaper. If you know what version of mac OS or Windows runs better with MC 2.8 or higher let me know.
Oh, and thanks for your help.
