    Re: Import .TOD

TOD is a "type of" MPEG-2 file, and DS doesn't deal with any
of them at all, so convert it/them to AVI, and import.

I haven't got at TOD-file to try on, but you could try to change
the extension of a file from TOD to MPG and see if your favourite
MPEG-to-AVI-conversion program "swallows it". it might, but then
    again it might not.

Otherwise you have to find software that can do a TOD-to-AVI
    conversion.

    Something on the TOD/MOD-format.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOD_(video_format)

Looking at the specs I suspect that it would be possible to
for example rename a file from testfile.MOD to testfile.MPG
and try to import it into Adobe Premiere, and then export an
    AVI from there.

Premiere often doesn't normally like MPEG-2's that don't have
the extension MPG, but for example renaming a fileextension
from VOB to MPG makes that Premiere gladly imports VOB-files.

Or TMPGEnc Xpress would probably fix it.

So good luck with you converting.

    Re: Import .TOD

Yes i Chance the file extension .TOD to .MPG, but avid nitris don´t acept files like this, and then need convert .MPG to MOV or AVI all clips like this way... maybe lost quality,or not?...and time ´it´s a slow process when you need transform a lot off clip... you drive avid nitris???

    Mike Thank you so much!!!

No, not Nitris any more, but a xw8600 running DS v.10.1.2 and an AJA-BOB.

Well, unfortunately it's always a slow and tedious process when you
get files the DS can' t import directly.

TMPGEnc Xpress can do batch encode, but you still have to code to
a new fileformat and then import.

And regarding quality. Uncompressed files won't cause any
quality losses but the files will be huge. Of course there are
also "lossy formats" that will do fine in many situations.

Frameserving is another way (but only if you're on 32-bit system).

This is the quickiest way to get single files inte the DS I think, but on
the other hand it demands you attention almost all of the time.

But I guess there are others here on the forum that has
some kind of workflow that makes this cumbersome situation
    as painless as it can.

I seldom have this problem cause I mostly deal with TV commercial
    length stuff. So it's just maybe 4-6 TV-spots á 30-10sec. each that
have to be converted and imported. Not so much of a problem then,
when you get the "wrong format" even though it's annoying.

Anyway, would be nice to hear how you went ahead and "solved the problem".
