Using the Output to HDV Device: No matter how I configure the deck (I think I've tried every combination of options), I can't get the deck to show any time-code at all. (I'd like for it to reflect my Sequence Time-Code, but I can live without that, so long as I get time code.
So, I Output to tape, using an existing mt2 file I just created in MC 3.1.3. The resulting HDV tape plays fine, looks fine and sounds fine. But, when I try to capture it back in to MC to check the tape integrity, I do see time-code in the capture window.
However, I don't get far: I get an error message almost immediately saying: Exception: Audio/Video is unexpectedly no longer coming into the system. I can see my video in the Capture Window, and I can hear the audio and see the TC, but as soon as I try to capture it, I get that error.
I'm fairly certain this tape will not pass the QC required by the distributor who's next in line.
Does anything I've described sound like a typical issue with an answer? I'm using a Sony HVR-M10U HDV deck via FireWire.
Thanks,
Jim
If this is the same as digitising dv, you have to record protect the tape, (you know, hide the red tab on the tape).
I have found with dv tapes you need to do this if you are using the keyspan to control the deck, but not if you are using firewire.
I hope this is of use

I mastered this program from the same media and system and deck a couple months ago. Then the client had me change the end credits, and make another master. The previous master digitized back into the Avid with no problems. The main difference is that I had different Video Mixdown files and I did audio mixdowns to create stems, which were also in the new sequence.
