    workflow canon 5DMII and newscutter

    Hello,

I shot an entire story with a Canon 5DMKII as the SX cam broke down on the spot. Now I need to edit with the material in Newscutter for broadcasting on tv. I've been searching for decent workflows;but no luck. Can you please help us?

    Tx,

    Tom

I believe the camera records 1920 x 1080 30p H.264 QuickTime files. If QuickTime player can play the files you should be able to import them into the Avid.

It might be better to use MPEG Streamclip and batch transcode the files to a DNx145 QuickTime file. These will fast import in Newscutter.

Since the camera records at a true 30p and not 29.97p, there will be a slight change to the frame rate.
