My Avid Media Composer has been crashing for some time, it happens as soon as I want to close it. To be more precise once I decide to quit Avid it closes its windows and as I am about to see it disappear it sends me the message:
"Assertion failed: err == noErrFile: /Snapshots/releng.relengintel7_1236903488/vobs/ppg/MCTop/ProjectFiles/../../MediaComposer/Media_Composer/MediaComposerApp.c, Line: 631"
With the three buttond underneath: "Create Report, Exit to Finder, Continue or Debugger."
Anyone?
thanks

Señor Dudero:
I'll bet you've got some confused media drive databases. Smarter folk will be along soon, but until then I'd try deleting the database files generated on each of your drives where you store your media. Restart the app, watch the databases rebuild, and then see if you achieve an uneventful shutdown.
buena suerte!

Do you mean to delete:
msmFMID.pmr and msmMMOB.mdb files in my MXF folders, I did it but the same problem is there again.
Thanks though
Hi, we have the same problem for some time now. The only way to quit without having it crash is to close the project, then quit to exit. It seems to be fine that way. I had a similar post regarding this, but I dont remember if the error was exactly the same. The only thing is to completely uninstall and re-install, but we're in a middle of a project so not a good idea now.
Take care and good luck
The same goes here, in the middle of the project, but thank you for the close-before-quetting tip. It works.
