Hi All,
I recently purchased an Nvidia Quadro FX3700 but have yet to install it. I will be running both Avid Media Composer and Autodesk Maya. Anyone have any experience running Media Composer with this card? The price is in my range and it seems like a good card just wanted to gather some intell that probably should have been done before the purchase. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm pretty sure that the card is fully supported by Avid, and I even think for a while it was the card that was installed on Symhony Nitris DX turnkey systems based on the HP XW8600. The MC Qualified Systems-list mentions the FX3700 supported in the HP XW8600, XW8400 and the Dell T5400 configuration.
The general system requirements prescribe the use of an NVIDIA FX graphics card with at least 128MB of memory. Your FX3700 more than fits that description.
My FX3700 is working just fine with MC 3.5.4. Believe it is spcifically approved by Avid. However, when the new drivers are installed, you may get a "mirror" message when you are shutting down MC. Several of us had that problem and Marianna sent us a patch to cure the problem.

Nothing but good over here. I believe it's the only card (as yet) qualified for the distributed rendering - that's the graphics card helping out with some of the video processing - that MC v3+ offers.

Where can I find this patch ? Can I download it from Avid's web site or should ask Marianna directly ?
In the next week, I want to upgrade my system to MC 3.5.4
Thank's in advance.
