    Red One quicktime file

Is it possible to capture the Quicktime file associated with the .R3D file? When I try to capture the QT file, I get error and only the audio is captured. I am working on DS 10.1.2.

Instead, capture the R3D file directly and sync the audio from the QuickTime file.

    Thanks Sylvain,

I did that. Fortunately there is no audio in the shooting. So that means, it's not possible to capture picture from red quicktime files? I have few more queries that I'll post in seperate topic.

No;  There is no Quicktime codec for RED on Windows.  They are strictly for use on Macs unless RED decides to port it to Windows.

The Quicktimes are reference movies anyway that 'talk to' the R3D files, just with specific settings.

Is there any way to "trick" the DS into capturing the R3d vido footage in one pass and then the audio from a Proxy file perhaps in another pass?  This would give you a clip with audio and video without having to use a "sync" seq to cut from and the load up time whenever you put it into the source window.  It is really nice to match back to your sources.  We can't be the only people needing audio while doing an offline cut with the R3D files.  IS there a DS software solution to come?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Yes. The upcoming 10.2 release will support audio and video from RED sources.
