    23.98 to 25+30fps

    Hey all,

Quick question...Is it possible to output a 23.98 (1080p) project to 25 and 30 fps or would I need to go thought some sort of hardware based standards converter?

    Re: 23.98 to 25+30fps

With the newer nitris DX and the latest software 23.98 to 59.94 is possible in HD and I believe to 25 like the old universal SD mastering on Symphony meridian.  I hope someone on the new hardware will confirm the 25 output in HD.  If you don't have the latest software hardware below are some suggestions:

23.98 to 59.94(aka 30) can be done by many HD decks like an SR 5500 or even the little JH30 although the cadence from a JH30 may be problematic for a straight dub it works.  To go to 25 you can set an SR 5500 to run the 23.98 at 25 speeding it up 4% which is usually not noticable.  The running time changes using this method.  If maintaining absolute length then you probably need some hardware like Alchemist etc...  I'm not familiar with the subtlties of those boxes but with the right options they can do most anything for a price.

Symphony Nitris DX will do both outputs.
