It's coming along nicely. A mutli-computer client/server render manager to distribute Metafuze transcodes...
Still needs some refining, and probably more testing, but is seems to work! :)

I'm really interested in seeing that. Keep us posted.

Tell you what, here's a sneak-peak screenshot:
Obviously that's the client and the server on the same machine, but it does indeed work across the network and everything!
looking good...
If you need any additional information or assistance you know where I am
keep up the good work

Very cool.
I need a few testers. If you've got some R3D files, or even DPX perhaps? A handful of computers and a little time, please let me know and I'll send you a beta.
Cheers,Dylan
Hi Dylan, I might be able to run some tests for you. mforrest@postboxpost.com

I've got tons of R3D and several machines, happy to give it a go.
The timing is a little bad for me but I'd love to do it in the near future.
Is it possible to run the server and client on the same machine for testing purposes?
Should be no problem at all.
Hi Dylan,
What's the status of this project? One of Igor's postings made me wonder why I would not order myself a handfull (5?) of simple office computers, tie them to one of my XW8400's and set up a render farm for R3D-to-DNxHD.
Hi Job,
That's basically the idea.
The problem I've had is consistency - I've found that sometime the invoked Metafuze crashes for no obvious reason. Also managing the install is causing a problem for me - I'm using one MS's Visual Studio Express products, which limits my setup deployment options, and seems to make installation on a system without internet access a problem.
Sorry I've had a lot of other things on lately and haven't had much chance to further develop.
If you're game to have a go with the development version as it stands at the moment feel free to drop me a line and I'll send you a copy to play with.
Thanks Dylan,
Will ping you as soon as I find the time to play with it.
Hi there Dylan!
I've goy 4 Mediacomposers running on xw 8000 to xw 8400 and a symphony nitris on a xw 8400. would like to testrun your tool. some clients would be made very happy if that setup would do a realtime performance for daylies - making them hourlies! :)
so, please send me your beta! ;)
