    BatchFuze Render Manager

It's coming along nicely. A mutli-computer client/server render manager to distribute Metafuze transcodes...

Still needs some refining, and probably more testing, but is seems to work! :)

    Tell you what, here's a sneak-peak screenshot:

Obviously that's the client and the server on the same machine, but it does indeed work across the network and everything!

I need a few testers. If you've got some R3D files, or even DPX perhaps? A handful of computers and a little time, please let me know and I'll send you a beta.

    Cheers,

Is it possible to run the server and client on the same machine for testing purposes?

    Hi Dylan,

What's the status of this project? One of Igor's postings made me wonder why I would not order myself a handfull (5?) of simple office computers, tie them to one of my XW8400's and set up a render farm for R3D-to-DNxHD.

    Re: BatchFuze Render Manager

    Hi Job,

    That's basically the idea.

The problem I've had is consistency - I've found that sometime the invoked Metafuze crashes for no obvious reason. Also managing the install is causing a problem for me - I'm using one MS's Visual Studio Express products, which limits my setup deployment options, and seems to make installation on a system without internet access a problem.

Sorry I've had a lot of other things on lately and haven't had much chance to further develop.

If you're game to have a go with the development version as it stands at the moment feel free to drop me a line and I'll send you a copy to play with.

    Cheers,
    Dylan
