i'm using MC 3.5.1. i tried to export a sequence of length of 03:01:20:15 as quicktime movie.the process started but failed unexpectedly without showing any error message. i found later that the memory used is 98% in project explorer.then i tried for clips of length about 1min, i failed and found the memory used is 98%. then i tried for batch export of 10 small clips of length 25 secs i failed and found the same memory usage as above.
pls help me!
note: i have tried the above in MC 3.0.5 also but failed. i tried for Avi export also.
Hi,
What version of Quicktime is installed on the system? How much RAM have you got?
good luck,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
i have quicktime 7.2 installed and 3.5GB RAM
According to the version matrix, you should be running QT 7.5.5 or 7.6. I'd try that and see if it makes a difference in exporting.

A 3 hour QuickTime?? Even at the most compressed codec that would take a very long time and likely would fail due to file size.

Thanks a lot.
i installed the appropriate QT version(According to the version matrix) and my problem is solved with one exception i.e incase of export to Avi with Canopus codec fails for longer length of clips/seqs.also i exported 1 min of clip to avi memory used is 62% and successfully exported then exported another same it fails showing 98% memory.
the batch export to Avi(with microsoft video 1 codec) i remain successful.
it also solved my another problem of failure of Digital cut in RT DNA mode to DSR 1800P 4ch deck and frame accuracy at the start of insert edit to a tape.

This is just a gut feeling, but could you be running into a file size limit with the Canopus codec AVIs?
