Hello people!!!
My dad is an experienced old fashioned Film editor! He was using these since "yesterday"
He has minimum knowledge of computers, and lately took some courses about using Avid Media Composer.
He told me to buy a Computer for him, and set up the avid he Bought!
I have problem in making it work!!
When I try to start the programm I get an Error: "nvogldc invisible: Avidmediacomposer.exe - application error..."
After some research I found out that this is about VGA driver compatibility!
My VGA card is GeForce GTX 275. I have the latest Drivers!
In NVIDIA site, they say to use the Drivers that Avid gives in a list in their site! All the drivers are 4 years old, and none of them works with my card!!
I am starting worriing that my VGA is not compatible with Avid!!
Some one who knows, please enlighten me!!
PS. I als have a GeForce 8800 GT in my other PC, so if it works easier, I can switch them!!!
Thank you in advance!
Avid is very specific about the systems they qualify to work with Media Composer. Here is a list of compatible PCs.

It would help if you posted exactly what your system specs are, then we could offer more advice.
Even though it's not officially supported, many people are using the GeForce cards without issues.
Good Luck!

More than just driver issues, you have hardware issues, friend. Avid specifies only certain cards that are certified for Avid systems. See the hardware requirements for Avid systems. Avid only certifies nVidia Quadro series cards.
Others have been able to get other cards to work, but they have had to jump through hoops for it to happen. You just have to decide whether you [A] want to troubleshoot your system for hours, day and weeks, or [B] edit.

Running the 8800 may be easier.

.- It's not difficult, actually it's really easy, just one setting in the Nvidia control panel.
The only drawback is not ANY GeForce will do the trick, just some models (AFAIK), like the 8800GT.
An 8800GT is easy to find, though.

And, no non-Quadro Series card supports "Distributed Processing" ... if that's a performance enhancing feature you'd like t take advatage of.

Thank you all for answering :D
I will provide you tomorrow my full system info!
More or less is
2GB Ram (with windows XP 32bit)
about 3gb Intel Quad
gtx 275,
I am planning to try to exchange the GTX with "PNY Quadro FX 580 SVGA (VCQFX580-PCIE-PB)" wich is in the same price more or less. It is a Quadro Family and better thatn the 560 they require!
Looking for confirmation that it will work, and I won't have to do any other Shop exchanges!
Check out the Nvidia Driver 182.50 (WHQL). Have the GTX 260 and it`s running without problems.
Don`t forget to disable threaded optimization in the driver setup panel. Also activate tripple buffer and vsync and set the maximum prerendered frames to 2.
This sould be working.

QUESTION 1 : Do I Need Sound Card, or I can use the Built in of the Mother board! Cause an exception appears, telling me smthing about Audio Hardware!
QUESTION 2 : What Driver should I download and apply for the Media Composer , and are there any specific Preferences I should do???
PS. I am pretty tired with all this Computer Setup, and I could use as much help as you can provide!
Thanks in advance!
You'll need a creative soundblaster audigy sound card (very cheap), and if you want to run any avid dna hardware, you'll need a firewire card that has a texas intruments chipset. Use the reccomended video driver detailed in the readme pdf that comes with the software. Good luck!
The sound Blaster Audigy is pretty old I think!! I might have problem Finding one of those!! Anything newer to deal with?? Is there a List of supported Sound cards???I assume the On board Sound card of my Mother Board doesnt work...
Any compatible Cards in this Page?? (Sorry for the Greek around just check the Card Titles! )
About the VGA driver! There are some drivers in the Utility Folder, but there are Very Old.....
EDIT : I think I can Find Audigy in some Stores! I will check first thing in the mourning! And I will keep in touch!!
The ugly thing, is that when I fix one error, only then appears the next one! So I cannot be sure that I fixed the previous one (Like the VGA error!)
