Is there a superlative degree for DESPERATE or HELPLESS?

I am new to this forum and I dont even know if this is the right section to be posting something like this. I am a Chemistry student and happen to have a dumb friend who I like to bits. Unfortunately he wants to make a DVD of his holidays and he somehow got hold of liquid 5.0. The problem is that when he imports something and tries to play it. The clip/movie seems to skip or jump or whatever u wanna call it. Plzz pardon my erratic tech terms but i am no good at this but sure am better thn him in understanding a bit about computers. Hes desperate, he increased his RAM, changed hard drives.. ordered pre-installed liquid 5.0 from india. Installed, uninstalled, re-intalled, literally everything. We did whatever we could now the last option that i cud think of was to come here and see if i could get any help.. plzz let me know if someone can be of some help. he's really upset with this.

    thanks for reading.

    ur all stars.

If you ask for help, you have to give us more information:

    -what is the source material

-what kind of computer do you use (cpu, gpu, os, versions...)

-can you give us samples to test?

    regards,

    udo

    Windows XP professional

    Pinnacle Liquid Edition 5.0

I think its called sourceline or timeline. The window on the left hand side where u play the clips ( I am not too good with this, i'm sure u would have guessed it by now), when any media clip is played onto it, it jumps and skips. I just want to know if anybody could give me any possible reasons as to what could be causing it? Memory? Graphics Card? Hard drive or the programme itself. Because when I play a movie in a media player it works fine. No problems at all.

I know that I'm sounding too vague, dumb and annoying, repeating the same thing again and again. But thats all I know about it and I've tried everything I could.

I am going to send the samples for u guys to take a look when u have time. And I wanted to thank everyone who could and could not help but still read and replied to this post. U guys have been very helpful so far. Thanks again.

Pinnacle products are no longer supported on the "Avid" site, or in this forum.  The Pinnacle forum is here.

    Media Composer 3.5.9/4.0.2 w/Mojo (analog), HP xw8400, 1xQC 3.0GHz, 8GB RAM, FX 3700, 1TB Boot, 1 x 1TB & 1 x 500GB internal SATA media drives, 3-Ware... [view my complete system specs]
