Has anyone built a system with both a Mojo DX and a Decklink or AJA card? Of course it would be dual boot so everything on the software side would be separate.
Thanx!

Hi!
Just Build a new Nehalem Dual 2,26 Quadcore with MojoDX, Decklink HD Extrem, Sata Higpoint Raidcontroller.
Was Tricky - but it works
Slot 1: Geforce GT120
Slot 2: Blackmagic Decklink !!! This is important - must be in 16x
Slot 3: Highpoint SATA Raidcontroller
Slot 4: MojoDX Xpress Card
OS X 10.5.6 and Avid 3.5.1
The good thing is - I can use the Decklink for Preview in AfterEffects, and for FinalCut AND....
I can use Decklink for Convert ther Mojo DX SDI output to Analog Signal like Composite,S-Video or Component
So I get more outputs from my MojoDX !!!
Regards
Sly

I have done a machine with a Mojo DX, AJA Kona 3 and a fibre channel HBA. All works as advertised as long as you dual boot.
Add a firewire pro tools interface for the trifecta! ;)
Don't trust the internet...
Thanx for the info, guys!
Hey Cowboy,
I have both Mojo DX and Kona 3 cards, currently in separate machines, and would like to consolidate into one 8-core MacPro.
I'm a long-time Avid editor but my business is now heavily FCP. Would like an easy way to switch back and forth.
Dual boot seems like a hassle, but perhaps I'm not thinking it through. I haven't experimented yet, and would value your input on how best to proceed.

Does it work also for input, can you input an analog signal to the decklink so its converted to SDI and captured by the mojo DX ?
Can you use the serial port of the decklink for deck control with MC ?
If it works I will buy one.
Thanks
Will try the SDI Capture from analoge input via decklink in the next week
RS422 Control over ther Decklink does NOT work at all !

don't know from DX (running SDI Mojo) so I don't qualify for this thread, but I'm running a Kona 3/Mojo SDI all day long on the same partition. I switch from Avid to Motion to AE to Photoshop, with the Kona 3 and Avid keeping track of themselves very nicely. All I need now is a new 12-core MacBeast running all 64-bit apps and 36 gig of RAM slammed in there, and I'll be set!
Next year.

Thanks for sharing info, the SDI capture from analogue input is of course my main concern, if RS422 control has to be done with the keyspan, then so be it.
What I'm actually trying to determine is do we buy the decklink card or the blackmagic broadcast converter. The decklink is cheaper and provides monitoring for AE and other softs as well while the converter just does the converting job. I'll wait until you try the capture, thanks again for helping.

Nicolas

Ok thanx for your time and nice editing meanwhile.
Could you tell me how did the output conversion worked, did you just route the SDI output of the DX thru the SDI input of the decklink and the signal came out live from the component outputs of the decklink without any further set up process. Or did you need to have some kind of software running (other than MC of course) to make it work ? In other words does the decklink need some utility software running to be active or just works in a sort of standalone mode?
Sorry for derailing this, but I'm curious, Sly, how does your HPT HBA work in slot 3?
I thought those needed to be in Slot 2 to get the proper bandwidth. No? Is it working OK?
You mean the Highpoint Raidcontroller - it IS working fast - about 328MB/s Read - and 226 MB/s Write
