Hi,
I have a problem with mounting unity workspaces on MacOS 10.5.7 with ethernet client. I can start connection manager and logged in without problem, but when I select workspaces and press connect button, connection finish with error message "unable connect ......because server not found".
I tried change user, create new user, use unity administrator account, but without success. On WinXP everything works OK.
Any idea?
Thank you in advance
Miroa
Did you read the release notes to ensure that your version of Unity works with that version of Mac OS?
JDS
Lets double check
From readme:
Avid Unity MediaNetwork v5.1 now supports clients that use Macintosh Leopard operatingsystems (Mac OS version 10.5.3 and later). The following is a list of Leopard changes youneed to know when working in the Avid Unity MediaNetwork environment and installingthe client software on your Leopard clients.
This release supports Macintosh 10.4.11 and 10.5.3 and later operating systems. Whenupdating your Macintosh clients select the appropriate installer for your fiber or Ethernetclient.
I am using leopard installer 5.1.2
make sure there are no spaces in your workspace names, macs hate this
No spaces, workspaces names like: edit, media, project .... no special characters
So it says supported.. Is your firewall on your Mac turned on?
I have seen case sensitivity problems with the user name and password, make sure its exactly the same as the user accounts entry
Same problem here. We had a user name "student" for students to use in our advanced video classes. When I try to mount our Unity volumes with this user name none of the workspaces mount. I checked the user management section and this user name was missing from the user names list (I don't know why). I re-created the user name but it still fails to mount any workspaces. Another user name, admin, mounts all volumes without a problem. The settings in the connection manager are identical for both user names.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Then delete the "bad" user, and duplicate the good user, with the dupe taking the place of the bad user. Also- you have addressed the windows users, right?
Thank you Hosed, you are right. When i created Macintosh user account with the exactly same name and password like on unity, everything works fine.
I am just surprised, why I must have the same Macintosh account and unity account? On PC it is not necessary.
Thanks once again.
