1. Do you use onboard firewire port for capture from DV decks or another card / PCI card in slot 1 for instance /?

Will onboard firewire port work without any problems ?

2. Certified BIOS for HP xw8600 by Avid is v.1.32 I can not find this version at the HP web sites. The last / and only / is v. 1.35 My xw8600 has BIOS 1.07 and want to flash it. Any experience with 1.35 version ?

I use the onboard firewire ports for capture from decks. For connection to DNA, you must use an Agere 1394a card in the slot 1. I have the Sonnet Allegro.

I'm running bios v1.32 but only as I'd not noticed there was a new one! Will try 1.35. In my experience I've never had any issues with using latest bios. I could send you the 1.32 bios if you like.

I use Mojo DX , so need not Agere for DNA connection.

How "big" is this file ? Can you send me it to my e-mail address or maybe any ftp ?

I have downloaded latest BIOS from the HP web site, but it's 1.35 I was thinking about installation this version, but want ask another users first.

I upgraded to 1.35 on Saturday and used Avid under Vista x64 for a few hours with no problems.

The 1.32 bios file is 2.74 meg. If you PM me your email address I will send it to you.

Ollie - thank's for your input. Sounds like flashing BIOS to 1.35 do not generate any problem with MC. After 1-2 days of editing let me know how it works, please.
