    Flipping an Object in Dekocast

    Hi guys,

I was working on Pinnacle DekoCast 3.6, and when I used to change the X Scale property of any object to -1 the object was flipped horizantally, and when changing the Y Scale to -1 the object was flipped vertically,

But when I started working on Avid DekoCast 4.1 Build 28, and when I change the X Scale property to -1 or any value below Zero the object is gone, and the same thing happens with Y Scale,

has Avid disabled this important feature?!! or it's there but in different method to be applied??!!

is there any way in Avid DekoCast 4.1 to flip an object horizantally or vertically?

    Another Question:

is there any rotation feature in DekoCast, can I rotate an Object???

    Regards

Yes, the "invert" behavior did go away at the 4.x release. I am not certain if this is a limitation of the newer hardware or if the software engineers just changed things. I have put in a request to engineering to find out for sure and I'll update you when I find out.

Currently there is no "rotate" function available in DekoCast.

It looks like the "invert" behavior is a limitation of the Corsica card. The older Targa card running with Ver. 4.2.1 is still able to invert. How did you actually use this functionality? It was never a design feature, so the behavior wasn't ported to the newer hardware. It is unknown if it would be possible to add that functionality.

Re: Flipping an Object in Dekocast

    Thank you guys,

Actually, I am designing a dynamic game application, and instead of creating 4 animations in the four directions (right, down, left, up) i can create only two and flip the object to create the other two,

and sometimes you can have a certain graphics, and the requirements change in a way you need to flip an object horizantally, vertically or both, so instead of creating new graphics and targa sequences, you can use the ones you have and just flip,

    regards,

Re: Flipping an Object in Dekocast

While my experience with "updated" software is with the 3000HD, I see I'm not the only who has found that doing something in one version doesn't mean it can be done in subsequent versions.  In my case, I was able to do motions in my strictly DekoMOS environment when we were using v4.1.1 with the 3000HD's....but when we updated to v4.1.2, there was suddenly introduced a 6-second delay in cueing motions and then playing them, so we have bagged motions completely.  Motions are still OK when done manually....but we have no operators; it's all done through the Playback Controller and that's where motions have the big delay.

OAG support told me that motions worked for us in v4.1.1 because we were "taking advantage of an error in that version that was corrected in v4.1.2."

I didn't mean to highjack this thread..... but it still has to do with upgrading/updating Deko software.
....and going back to v4.1.1 is out of the question.
