I have been using two Samsung Syncmaster 940BW wide screen monitors on my system, but the stands they came with are badly designed and have fallen apart. I decided to switch the monitors from an Express pro system, two LG Flatron M1917TM 4:3 models. I plugged them into the DVI outputs from the Nvidia Geforce 7950GT card.
First of all there was no output on the second monitor, the primary monitor was ok, but I had to fiddle about with the Nvidia settings to get it to recognise there was a monitor plugged in. It was wierd, I could plug one of the Samsungs in and use that as a second monitor and it was detected straight away, and then if I replaced it with teh LG it recognised it , but then when I shut down and booted back up it wasnt detected. In order for it to detect it I had to use an RGB to DVI adapter and plug the output from the card to the RGB input of the secondary monitor. The Primary monitor is running off the DVI output no problem.
Any way like I say I manged to get it to work, and it seems to be ok. Apart from a really noticiable colour difference between playback and stationary video. I have messd with the colur settings but I cant get it to look right. I'll live with it for the moment.
The bigger problem is Full Screen Playback - which worked fine with the two Samsungs. Now with the LG's connected I get a message tellng me the FSP isnt supported on this system - well it has been for the last two years!
So why would changing the monitors suddenly cause this problem? Is it due to one of the monitoros being adapted to RGB? Why would this affect the FSP on my primary monitor? How can I get the card to recognise and playback on the DVI input of the secondary monitor if this is the issue.
I know I am goin gto be told the card isnt supported - but like I say it has worked perfectly well with the tow samsungs, surely changing the monitors shouldnt make a difference?
Any advice - other than to get an approved card?
Try to use adapters for both.
Have you set the FSP again on the monitor you want?

Yeah I set it for both of them and get the same thing.
I cant find another adaptor at the moment - I am sure I have one somewhere FSP worked on the DVI outputs for the Samsungs
Hi
just a shot in the dark: do the resolutions differ between the Samsungs and the LGs? If yes, try to set the resolution back to the same the Samsungs worked for you.
Have you installed your screens with the according drivers or are you simply plug'n'playing? It could be worth a try to install the LG's original display drivers...
FWIW, g_f
They must both be connected with the same method and of course to have the same resolutions as gf points.
Did you by any chance updated graphic card driver to the latest release?
I have a Quadro card and once I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, kept the same monitor and suddenly fullscreen playback disappeared.
I rolled back to previous driver and FSP functioned again, see if it´s also your case.
When it comes to stability and compatibility, the latest graphic card drivers are not necessarily the most suitable.
Greetings from Lisbon.
