Hello!
I am trying to capture footage from a Sony PD150 to an imac using Avid Composer.
I have a pc which I use Avid Express pro on and it's usually fine.
On the imac the capture tool doesn't seem to realise a camera is attached.
Can someone please try and help?? A step by step guide would be great.
Cheers.
Which version of Avid Media Composer and Mac OS X do you have?
Also what kind of iMac, Intel or PPC?
I have successfully captured from a PD150/170 with a MacBook Pro and Mac OS 10.5.7 and Avid MC 3.1.x, and did this just by opening the capture tool and pressing the "auto configure" option, while the camera was connected and set to VCR, even before I started Avid.
If that fails (obviously) you could try to configure the deck by going to the settings in Avid, open Deck Configuration, adding a Firewire channel (if not already there) to which you add a deck manually.
See screenshot below.
What the frack is this? A forum with width constrictions?

Thanks luces umbrarum ,
I'm not with the computer until tomorrow morning but I believe it's the most basic imac - Leopard 10.5.6???
The Avid Media Composer is 3.5. I'll try what you suggested in the morning.
Liz.
