I have a client that has 6 x mac based composer adren/nitris systems working standalone with each system connected to one of the above jbods. They are very interested in buying unity and are asking if they can connect these disks to the unity system.

Anyone done this ?

It would not be recommended to do so,  I've never seen it in the wild.  That isn't to say it would not work,  just that you may run into unanticipated issues down the line that could result in loss of media.   Catastrophic loss of media.

You can try anything you want, if you are willing to assume the risks of it.

As you can see they already have 6 jbod's in house. They would prefer to use them and possibly buy another editing station if they can use existing disks.
