This is no typo folks -- looks like they are packing three episodes into one big premiere night! *For those of you not in the US, international premiere dates and further episode premiere dates TBD!Dome Over Houston, 6/8, 8:00 pm ESTBering Strait Tunnel, 6/8, 9:00 pm ESTCity At Sea, 6/8, 10:00 pm EST*Check out the episode descriptions below... and tune in!http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=1.13900.25842.36051.1-------------------------------- Dome Over Houston, 6/8, 8:00 pmHouston is a city under seige: beset by hurricanes and extreme weather that bring billions of dollars in damage and disrupt millions of lives. In order to protect the city, a radical solution is proposed: a giant geodesic dome inspired by the eccentric, brilliant inventor Buckminster Fuller. At 1,500 feet tall, it would be the tallest megastructure in the country with the largest roof in the world. Using the opinions of experts in the fields of structural engineering, material science, and architecture, including Fuller's former business partners, "Dome Over Houston" looks at how building this giant structure could one day protect the city. Bering Strait Tunnel, 6/8, 9:00 pmBillions in natural gas and diamonds—frozen in the earth for millions of years. The area around the Bering Strait is a treasure trove but there’s no way to transport the goods to civilization. What if engineers could connect Alaska and Russia? An underwater tunnel for trains with a gas pipeline could transform the future of fuel and revolutionize global trade. If built, the "Bering Strait Tunnel" would be the longest in the world and building it could be a deadly project in extreme, subzero temperatures. Can engineers make the dream a reality? City At Sea, 6/8, 10:00 pm New Orleans is under siege. Devastating floods caused by global warming and rising sea levels have brought the city to its knees. The old defenses – levees and canals – cannot be counted on any longer. Some engineers are saying the only way for New Orleans to escape the water is to build a floating city: a New New Orleans, buoyed up by the water instead of drowning underneath. Long a dream for engineers, science has finally caught up with the idea. Innovations in nautical design, material science, and maritime construction have made it possible. But much more remains to be done. The city will have to survive killer waves, repel pirate attacks, and dodge hurricanes. The stakes are sky high. Is the Big Easy up to the challenge?

"I am not obsessed... I'm detail-oriented"
Thats nothing I live in Bolton and many years ago the Town fathers decided that to survive a nuclear strike on the nearby city of Manchester we needed a shock absorbent cushion, so they levitated the town on to a bed of methane and fitted an invisible bubble like shield over our heads.
This is all top secret of course but it explains why we dont have an airport and the place can get a bit whiffy from time to time.

Great job, Kenton! I really enjoyed the segment on the Bearing Tunnel and Russian rail construction.

Larry Rubin: Great job, Kenton! I really enjoyed the segment on the Bearing Tunnel and Russian rail construction.
Thanks Larry,
I only did one day (albeit a 12 hr day) on the Tunnel episode - it was in Fine Cut and I was tasked with taking it to Pix Lock and incorporating content changes from Discovery. I didn't see my name in the credits on that one, but am not surprised considering how little time I spent (plus there were four other editors on that one!!)
The "City at Sea" ep., I contributed to a lot of that - adding b-roll/sfx, pacing, trimming, etc. It was in Rough Cut (or "rough cut 'plus'", as we called it) when I got it and I took it through Fine Cut into Pix Lock and turned it over to the Online. I noticed however that my last name was spelled incorrectly on the City at Sea credit - lol
I also worked on a few other episodes coming up - I'll post an update when I find out those are airing.
Congratulations Kenton! I will look for it and Tivo it next time it comes back on.
